Chicago Cubs Fans Wait and Wait to Win It All Who would have thought that it would take more than a century (and counting) for the Cubs to win another World Series? No other major pro sports organization in the United States has suffered longer without a championship than the Cubs, who last won it all in 1908. With all this losing, pain, and unbearable anguish of being remotely associated with the team whether as a fan or player, it’s difficult for some to understand why fans are so loyal to one of the losingest franchises in Major League Baseball history. Beyond the Game’s reporting team explored why fans bleed Cubby Blue – and do so in their own right. Fans come in all shapes and sizes, ages and ethnicities. They all have different reasons for following the team. But they all have one common goal: Witness their favorite North Side team win a World Series.
